Heather's author visits feature her debut story, Two Shoes, and integrates interactive activities, thoughtful questions, and fun for everyone. Visits can be customized for large assemblies or small classroom visits - whatever works best for your organization!
Typical visits run ~30 minutes and include the Freeze Statue Game, an entertaining and interactive reading of Two Shoes, and a thoughtful discussion about themes of sharing, friendship, and compassion. Two Shoes is recommended for elementary age audiences.
Each school, class, organization, or childcare is different. Heather is happy to design the program and pricing that works best for your organization. There is no session too large or small, every child deserves to hear quality storytelling and enjoy a truly memorable event.
"It was such an honor having Heather Duke Stories at our facility to read her book, Two Shoes. Our kids were so engaged in her reading of the book, activities, and interactive games and they talked about the book after her visit for days! We can't wait to host Heather Duke in our programs again!"

"When Heather came into the classroom to share her book, she was greeted with lots of smiling faces who were ready to listen to her read. Her presentation was awesome and my class loved it, especially when they acted out the story. They learned a lot about sharing and kindness. I would recommend Mrs. Duke as a speaker to any class as students will love it!"

"Having a Junior Lit Chat with Heahter Duke Stories at Celebrate Reading Week at the Main Library was great! The audience was engaged from the warm-up activity, including the freeze statue game and naming the statue character. The highlight was watching the kids interact with Heather during her book signing."
